Huawei Ascend Y3 II ECO 8GB LTE Review

best Android smartphone value for money less than 100
Huawei Ascend Y3 is definitely a smartphone for those with few pretensions, but at the same time does not want to make too many sacrifices. It is an extremely compact smartphone that manages to run games without major problems. Other than that it is a dual SIM smartphone, features that will appeal to many.

Construction and Ergonomics

Y3 is an ultra compact smartphone than that lately one sees few. Flanked to huge devices, Y3 becomes instantly a smartphone for those who want a small smartphone. Very small, at least by today’s standards.
In his hand it is comfortable, light enough and a very soft form. The design is quite anonymous and, if it were not for the double flash that stands out as if they were eyes, looks like many other low-end Huawei.

Hardware

We find an “old” MediaTek MT6582 quad-core 1.2 GHz, but does very good job. The RAM is 1GB, but in spite of everything defends itself better than other smartphones with twice as much memory (and “downward” each cut can be dramatic). The internal memory is only 8 GB. You can expand it by buying a microSD.
The network connection is guaranteed up to 21.1 Mbps and the phone offers support for two SIM. Next it will be reasonably give up 4G. The Wi-Fi is b / g / n and Bluetooth is version 4.0. NFC is missing: other acceptable waiver for a similar product. But it does not miss the FM radio. The guaranteed volume from the rear speakers is quite modest.

Camera

The 5 megapixel camera has well two LED flash. This choice, however, the obvious has at least bizarre purpose of compensating a quality of the camera, which alone would not be sufficient to achieve good shots in the case of low light. In any case, the amount of digital noise will always be important. There is also a 2-megapixel front camera. The shots are scarce, but it is still good to know you have a front camera for “emergencies.”

Display

The 4.5-inch screen has a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels and IPS technology. The brightness is good, although it must be adjusted manually, while a defect is surely the high degree of reflections that are generated on the display when it is outdoors.

Software

The Android version is 4.4.2 Kitkat and fairly there will be other updates bodied. The system is incredibly smooth and even unlocking your phone is faster than any other tried to date in the range of $100. It can not compete with more powerful devices and opening the app often takes a few seconds longer, but nothing really dramatic, as is the hardware you might think.
Android is heavily modified from an aesthetic point of view but very little from that functional. Huawei has only added to the programmed ON / OFF and the ability to enable a simplified home. Perfect for those not familiar with smartphones. Among the additional apps are the themes (only 3), the keyboard TouchPal and a file manager. The classic app to manage the system was replaced by a button to empty the RAM.

Autonomy

The 2100 mAh battery provides this Y3 2 adequate autonomy, always allowing you to be at the end of the evening with a residual amount of battery often enough for another half day.

Huawei Y6 II Unlocked Review

Huawei Y6 II Unlocked Review best android smartphone under 200
Y6 is one of the best smartphone you can buy for such a small price. It is well built, has a good design, simple but functional software and also more than enough camera, especially considering the sale price. Inside the orange packaging of this smartphone we find a USB-microUSB cable, a 1A wall adapter and a pair of stereo headphones of sufficient quality.

Construction and Ergonomics

Huawei Y6 is realized, of course, entirely in plastic. The back cover is not particularly robust, but nevertheless sufficiently pleasant to hold in the hand and also to look at due to its texture. Very nice edge smartphone with a groove: this helps to grip and provides uniqueness to the smartphone, which is very rare in the low-end market. The device is quite large and holding it in your hand may not be simple, but in its category is nevertheless defended well, keeping also the thickness (8.5 millimeters) relatively low.

Hardware

The processor of this smartphone is the Krin 620 Octa-core 1.2GHz. The performance is still good, although the hardware is less accurate than that on the market, this also thanks to the 2 GB of RAM. The internal memory is unfortunately only 16 GB and this could cause you some problems installing many apps. It will be almost mandatory purchase a microSD, which will be used as the default storage for all your content. The smartphone also offers dual SIM support (format micro) without sacrificing expansion memory. Connectivity is 4G LTE on both SIM (although alternately). The Wi-Fi is b / g / n and therefore not supports the 5 GHz frequency. Bluetooth is 4.0.
The speaker is positioned at the bottom and has a good volume for the multimedia part, but only sufficient in speakerphone call. The quality is just enough.

Camera

The main camera produces shots to 13 megapixels and the quality of recorded images is good for the average of cheap products, realizing (especially with good light) rich image details. You just have to be careful to clean the lens (easily dirty) and you will not (obviously?) to have too many demands, especially in low light where the image you “knead” quickly. Enough of the 720p video, and a 8 megapixel front camera. Good instead of shooting functions that include the time-lapse, HDR and shooting with focus points different fire.

Display

The display IPS the Huawei smartphone is from 5.5 inches and has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, not very high but more than adequate for the type of product (and especially for the price range). Good brightness and discreet also the automatic adjustment. Sometimes we found it a bit ‘slow adaptation, but this is a forgivable flaw on a similar product.

Software

Android is already updated to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and customization is that of EMUI 3.1. The features are many and there is virtually none of the more advanced features of this interface, so that is also comparable to those of the top smartphone (or most) of Huawei. We have the simple mode, the mode to a hand, personalization with themes and the bottom bar and the “usual” Phone Manager application that allows you to control and manage many aspects, such as application permissions for access to the network or notifications. Be careful what options are going to touch it wrong can mean worse user experience with single app.

Autonomy

The 3000 mAh non removable battery offers a decent battery life. For the type of smartphone probably always be able to get to the end of the day, but if you put it under stress you may need a second charge toward the dinner hour.

Samsung Galaxy J7 Review

Samsung Galaxy J7 Review best smaretphone with Android OS under 200 deals
The family “J” of Samsung had never particularly distinguished, at least before this J7. The smartphone has some deficiencies that might turn up their noses at someone (like the absence of automatic brightness), but if you read the review you’ll discover a lot of important positive points for a smartphone of this belt.
Inside the box there is a 5V / 1.55A power supply, a pair of stereo headphones and a USB-microUSB cable.

Construction and Ergonomics

J7 is a smartphone of important dimensions, but which still remains in the category of those phablet still safely be used without the risk that they may slip hand with every movement. In its category it is one of the few that can boast a full profile metal and well executed. The design is classic Samsung and the top plastic cover is of excellent quality, recalling much that of the Galaxy family last year. The physical buttons are positioned on the right side and can be reached easily.

Hardware

The CPU of the Galaxy J7 is a Samsung Exynos 7870 octa-core 1.6 GHz with Mali T830 GPU. We find then 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory expandable via microSD. It is a hardware all in all a lot more than respectable for this category and that denotes a significant “upgrade” from the Korean company in terms of its focus to cheaper products. The LTE connectivity is up to 150 Mbps, Wi-Fi is b / g / n single band and Bluetooth is version 4.1. Do not miss the NFC and even FM radio.
Too bad for the absence instead of the notification LED, an almost indispensable component of every smartphone.

Camera

The main camera is a 13 megapixel camera with ƒ / 1.9 aperture. The software is classic Samsung but with a few modes to choose from. We find, however, the HDR and the manual mode, but offers few controls. The picture quality is very good, especially with good light, where able to make shots with a very surprising amount of detail.
Also Sufficient videos in Full HD and good 5 megapixel front camera which also offers support of an LED flash for shooting in the dark.

Display

The display is probably the strongest point of this smartphone. Despite the resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels can be considered just “ok” for a 5.5-inch diagonal display, the technology chosen for this screen (Super AMOLED) allows you to play extremely vivid, with a truly amazing brightness. A display so that “demolishes” the competition in this category, but stumbles on the absence of light sensor which will then force you to adjust it manually. Present a mode of “brightness outside” to further increase the brightness for a maximum of 15 minutes.

Software

Android within this Galaxy J7 is already updated to version 6.0.1 marshmallow and customized interface TouchWiz Samsung. This is a simplification of the interface which is generally pleasant and very colorful, although not particularly sought after. Samsung introduces a number of significant features and among these the most important are the presence of a Smart Manager to manage various related security parameters and autonomy and the ability to enable a triple click the home button a comfortable one-handed mode, indispensable at times when you do not have two hands to respond to a message.

Autonomy

Galaxy J7 comes with a removable battery 3300 mAh: double good result, for the ability and the opportunity to replace the battery. With heavy usage you will reach up to a day and a half of independence, which will become two days with average use.

ASUS ZenFone 3 Laser Review

For the second year in a file ASUS has created a very interesting variant of its family called Zenfone 3 Laser, for the presence of a laser autofocus camera alongside. This year the smartphone in question was marked to be a balanced product with a quality camera, hard to find in its price range.
The packaging of this smartphone contains a 5.2V / 2A power supply, a USB-microUSB cable and a pair of in-ear headphones of average quality with the various adapters for the ears.

Construction and Ergonomics

ASUS Zenfone 3 Laser has a design very similar to the Zenfone 3 Max. It is made with a fairly elegant metal casing with two small plastic bands at both ends shorter to leave “free” the antennas. Also on the back we have the protruding camera and immediately below the fingerprint reader from the elongated shape. Overall, this is compact enough and holding it well enough uses in almost all circumstances.

Hardware

Zenfone 3 Laser comes with the latest Snapdragon 430 octa-core 1.4 GHz. It is all in all a fairly modest processor combined with 2 GB of RAM. Overall, however, it is still a pairing more than enough for almost all operations you might need, even if the benefits are not always brilliant in every situation. The internal memory is from well 32 GB and you can expand it further by using a microSD.
Fair connectivity: Wi-Fi b / g / n single band, Bluetooth 4.2 and LTE up to 150 Mbps. Unfortunately however absent NFC chip. There is an LED on the front of the notification and not miss the FM radio. Precision is good and also the shutter speed is quite good.

Camera

The camera of 13 megapixel main has an opening ƒ / 2.0 and a dual two-tone LED flash. Also has a color spectrum sensor for photos always in a good color balance. The camera is not lightning fast as we would have hoped in low light, but otherwise it is in all respects a remarkable camera in this price range. With good light Auto HDR does its job properly illuminating each area, with little light details are still well to the focus is precise thanks to autofocus lasers and even videos are good, thanks to digital stabilization (EIS) that guarantees fairly stable video even in hectic situations. The software, as we said, is not instantaneous but has a large number of options and lots of modes to choose from. Among these we mention the manual mode, the HDR Pro, animated GIF, the mode in low light and depth of field.

Display

The screen of this Zenfone 3 Laser is a 5.5 inches with Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) made of IPS technology. You can adjust the display to appear more or less lively or change the white balance. It is overall a good display, with a good maximum brightness, even if in automatic mode tends a bit too close to the savings. Overall, it is still not so high as to allow a perfect vision in the most sunny days. Discrete viewing angles and color balance.

Software

Zenfone 3 Laser has the 6.0 version with the custom Marshmallow ZENUI 3.0 offers a number of features, for without adding great features that really “move the balance.” We have the one-handed mode, gesture, Game Genie for those who play a lot with the phone. ASUS Mobile Manager to manage many aspects of the phone, such as automatic startup of certain apps, their permission or their access to notifications. There are also a number of pre-installed applications more or less useful. Among the ones we like the most are MiniMovie to create short videos from their own photos and PhotoCollage to join together various photos.

Autonomy

The battery of this Zenfone 3 Laser is 3,000 mAh. With a single charge you can get through the day without any problems with a medium intense use. Under stress you may still need a recharge after dinner.

Best Android smartphones less than 300 $

Honor 6X Review

Honor 6X best smartphone with Android OS 2017
After the success with 5X, the company will try again with 6X, adding a second camera. But it is not this camera to make it interesting smartphone, but rather the excellent mix of the excellent display, battery and hardware, all offered at a very aggressive price. Very complete even software.
The blue pack of 6X contains in its interior a 5V / 2A AC adapter and a USB-cable microSD. The sales package also should be some stereo headphones.

Construction and Ergonomics

Honor 6X will not have a particularly inspired design, but compared to other views solutions in the past we believe this model, however, a step forward. The shell metal is pleasant and well-crafted, although its rounded shape makes this particularly 6X a bit ‘slippery when you take it out of your pocket. Always pay close attention. On the front it is entirely covered by glass with 2.5D effect, while the physical buttons are all positioned on the right side. You press well and have a good feedback when pressed. Its tapered shape then highlights the smartphone more subtlety.

Hardware

Honor 6X is “pushed” from a “home” processor, which is the Kirin 655 HISILICON octa-core 2.1 GHz associated with a Mali T830 MP2 GPU. Performance is good for almost every type of use, also thanks to the 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory that can expand with a microSD. Fair connectivity, thanks to 300 Mbps LTE, Bluetooth 4.1, and also the presence of the NFC chip. Too bad for the single band Wi-Fi b / g / n. Do not miss the FM radio instead.
The speaker is positioned at the bottom and has a quality average. On the back is positioned a very precise and quite fast fingerprint reader.

Camera

The main camera is a 12 megapixel, associated along with a second 2-megapixel sensor. This second sensor allows the software to take pictures with variable depth of field. Experience with this mode was not entirely satisfactory. The blur mode of activation is slow and the blur effect is always accurate. Often, however, the end result is better than your exception. In the classic “mode” shots are still interesting, with a fair amount of detail and the shot is fast.
Even so it is not a “champion” in the photographic industry it behaves in the media better than the other competitors in its category. Discrete video focus in Full HD (very fast continuous) and well the 8-megapixel front camera. The software is feature-rich, although switch between the two (including HDR) is not really fast.

Display

The screen of this Honor 6X is a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS technology. In general it is a good average display, with good color fidelity, a very high brightness and discrete viewing angles. From the settings you can adjust it at will. Too bad for the automatic brightness which is a bit ‘slow in adapting to various light conditions. Small criticism of the oleophobic protection, not as perfect as we would have liked.

Software

The software is no different than what has been seen in the past on other Huawei Honor smartphone and recent. We have customized Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EMUI 4.1. It is, for those few who still do not know, a launcher without drawer and then with all the app directly on the home. We multitasking with horizontal tabs and two tents from the top, one for notifications (chronological) and one for the toggle fast. Among the advanced features we mention the multiwindows to launch two windows simultaneously, the lower customizable buttons, the mode to a hand, the management software of the phone and themes.
There are also other apps, like video player and music player, while the browser is Chrome offering very satisfactory performance.

Autonomy

The Honor 6X battery is a 3340 mAh non-removable. The results that you get are truly remarkable and even with heavy usage will be difficult to get through the day without a little ‘residual battery.

Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017) Review

Samsung Galaxy A3 2017 Review best android phone available amazon discont price
The smaller Galaxy A3 is perhaps the one that received the most significant update of the family, gaining the water resistance, the fingerprint reader and a revamped design. It is available in various colors and each has the metal profile of the same color of the rear glass.
The package of Galaxy A3 (2017) contains a 5V / 1.55A power supply, a USB-USB cable Type-C, a pair of good in-ear headphones (but without adapters), and a Type-C / USB adapter.

Construction and Ergonomics

Galaxy A3 (2017) has a definite advantage that other smartphones in the same category often can not boast. It is compact, easy to handle and extremely pocket. It is made with care and draws which we already have seen in A5 (2017). Rounded lines and realization metal with respect to the frame and glass for the rear part. As already mentioned in hand smartphone is extremely pleasant and is used with great simplicity, even with one hand.
Do not underestimate the fact that the smartphone is also resistant to water and dust following the directives IP68. Functionality also convenient in everyday life.

Hardware

It comes with a processor Exynos 7870 octa-core 1.6 GHz with Mali T830 GPU. The RAM is 2 GB, while the internal memory stops to 16 GB, expandable via microSD anyway. Performance is decent but to move in perfect fluidity of the interface Samsung might have been needed something more. The LTE connectivity is up to 300 Mbps, Wi-Fi is dual band (standard ac) and there is Bluetooth version 4.2.
Do not miss the NFC chip, while lacking however the notification LED: this because it is present (active and default) mode Always-On screen. Good speaker positioned in the particular lateral position right.

Camera

The main camera is 13 megapixels (opening ƒ / 1.9) and is equipped with an LED flash for night shots. The software is attractive, easy to use, without offering specific advanced features, if not a pro mode, the HDR (manual) and the ability to create GIF. Swiping to the right instead we will have two panels of real-time effects. The shots are good and allow it to compete with the competition in the price range, although without changing the cards on the table. Difficulties with little light there, but with a firm hand still able to take pictures rather than discrete. The 8-megapixel front camera (always ƒ / 1.9) then does its job well. Both discrete video recording (non-regulated) in Full HD.

Display

A3 (2017) is equipped with a 4.7 inch display with technology SuperAMOLED. The resolution of this screen is 1280 x 720 pixels and compared to other similar devices, unfortunately, the lower resolution to other smartphones. This is not a limit in almost any way, but it is a fact. The brightness is great, as are the excellent viewing angles and the automatic adjustment according to the light conditions.
Present the Always-On mode that shows the real-time notifications also locked screen, as is the way to filter blue light and read without straining the eyes in the evening.

Software

Android is updated to version 6.0.1 Marshmallow, even if it is (thankfully) expected shortly upgrade to Nougat. The interface is customized with the latest Grace UX Samsung it introduces some interesting innovations such as notifications grouped and protected mode where duplicate that favorite applications and keep them separate from the main. Do not miss Game Tool to record your gaming sessions and S Health to track your physical activity.
As for the customization we have a menu to “balloon” that appears by holding down the icons on the home and the ability to change themes among large numbers offered by Samsung for free download.

Autonomy

The battery 2350 mAh might seem like a blast from the past, probably accustomed to smartphones by the most generous size. Yet the results are excellent. With heavy usage will come to do even a half days of battery life, which can also become two with a more moderate use.

Lenovo Moto G5 Plus Review

Lenovo Moto G5 Plus Review best smartphone 2017 money
After a dish that looked downward Lenovo is back with the Moto G, the fifth generation in the Plus version, which surprised positively. Balanced display, good camera and constructive quality higher than the average. Of course, the design will not be surprising, but it is more than good for a product of this type.

Construction and Ergonomics

Lenovo has chosen will smooth the design of its smartphones, going to restore a bit ‘tone to the product by replacing the front fingerprint reader with a more graceful (oval and hollow) and with a new metal back, surrounded by a profile that it is instead made of plastic. To the touch smartphone transmits good sensations and some details, such as the power button and knurled embossed logo, make it even more polished. Too bad for the protruding camera on the back. The dimensions are not particularly limited but in the complex in its band defends himself more than good. The phone is then water-resistant, which means it can withstand splashes (but can not be immersed).

Hardware

Lenovo has updated the hardware in whole this Moto G5 Plus bringing it in one shot to the next level. We have a Snapdragon 625 octa-core 2 GHz processor, Adreno 506 GPU and now 3 GB of RAM. Even the internal memory increases, and indeed for the accuracy doubles, reaching to 32 GB and remaining always expandable. Excellent then the ability to expand the memory without sacrificing the second SIM holder, making it one of the few equipped with this feature. Good LTE connectivity up to 300 Mbps, Wi-Fi n (dual band), Bluetooth 4.2, assisted GPS and NFC. The absence of the digital compass, given the presence of all other sensors.
We close with the presence of FM radio. The sound comes only from the earpiece. The volume is average, the quality is rather discreet.

Camera

Lenovo has updated so important to the camera of this G5 Plus, introducing a Sony IMX362 sensor with 12 megapixel camera features the same Dual Pixel technology that we had also seen on S7 (but not only). It is a good sensor, with opening ƒ / 1.7 and supported by a double LED flash dual technology. It is then capable of recording videos in 4K discrete. Auto HDR is then present, and also works on the 5-megapixel front camera (ƒ / 2.2) that offers good shots and has a very wide field.
Overall the photos are good and have a significant amount of detail.

Display

Moto G5 Plus is equipped with a display full HD built with IPS technology and 5.2-inch diagonal. The resolution is good, as well as the colors are good, while the brightness is only fair. Fine in general, but also hard work to the maximum to counter the light of a full sunny day. It features Moto Display that allows you to show notifications on the screen when your smartphone is raised and makes up for the absence of the notification LED.

Autonomy

The battery is a 3000 mAh integrated allows the smartphone to arrive with practically any type of use at the end of the day with a little ‘operating time remaining. With average use, or tending to thrifty will not be impossible to get to two days on a single charge. Excellent then the presence of TurboPower technology that allows charging the extremely quickly.

Sony Xperia X Compact Review

Sony Xperia X Compact Review best android smartphone under 450 at amazon
If you look for a particularly powerful but compact smartphone there are few alternatives available in the market right now. And between these Sony Xperia X Compact is definitely one of the most tempting. It is small, with a great display and excellent camera. Compared to other years it is no longer a top of the range, but the price has dropped.

Construction and Ergonomics

Compact X is obviously a relatively compact smartphone, and although it is often 9.5 mm is held very well in the hand, thanks to its small size. It weighs 135 grams and slightly changes the design compared to the past, going to change some design elements, but always remaining a recognizable Japanese company’s product. In his hand smartphone becomes so pleasant, also thanks to a finish of high-quality plastic. The power button is at the center laterally and also integrates fingerprint reader. The volume rocker is instead positioned at the bottom and this makes the keys a bit ‘awkward to reach. Still down more we find the shutter button. Compared to the past this Compact is no longer waterproof.

Hardware

As the whole “X” family of Sony have to do with a smartphone equipped with a hardware quality but do not come out on top. Nothing wrong with that, provided it is evaluated in the right category. We have a processor 1.8 GHz Snapdragon 650 hexa-core processor, an Adreno 510 graphics processor, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory expandable with microSD. Very good connectivity, Sony has always been a hallmark: Wi-Fi ac dual band, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC and GPS assisted by GLONASS. Present also the FM radio and the aforementioned fingerprint reader, very precisely and quickly. The speakers are both situated frontally and have a good quality and a higher than average volume.

Camera

The main camera is the 23 megapixel already seen on other models of the house. We always aperture f / 2.0 and 24mm wide-angle lens. Compared to the past we are now a spectrum of color sensor and the laser autofocus. Very good quality shots and discrete also the focus speed and shutter speed. Inheriting the camera from the top of its range, we can say we have to deal with one of the best compact camera phone. The images have well-balanced color and a considerable amount of detail. In low-light situation obviously worse in terms of digital noise and even the color balance it is imperfect, despite the new sensor. Very well the videos, even without going to 4K, are very well stabilized digitally. Too bad for video at 60 fps Full HD that low light is very dark.

Display

Sony Xperia X Compact has a screen of 4.6-inch HD resolution (1280 x 720 pixels). It is a high quality display with a resolution suitable to the type of screen. The IPS technology used for this display allows to have a more than satisfactory brightness and an adaptation system to very good ambient light. Always present X-Reality for viewing photos and videos, and more and can also adjust the tone of the display of the settings.

Software

We have seen new software in this Compact X. It is always of the various improvements that the Japanese company has made on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. We still support the themes, the double tap to lock and unlock your phone and many useful apps pre-installed (and some less useful). Among these we Sketch to draw, News for news (even with notifications of the most interesting) and Movie Creator to create cute little movies from photos and videos made. The whole system is very fast and fluid in all circumstances, even if in addition to what is listed does not offer other details cues. Then we have (by some Sony smartphones now) also intelligent cancellation mode.

Autonomy

X Compact comes with a battery 2700 mAh non-removable. We Stamina mode, an adaptive charging system and support to Quick Charge 3.0. Analyzing still the only independent with no active management mode we got a good result. It is not hard to get through the day even with a heavy use of the smartphone.

OnePlus 3T Review

OnePlus 3T Review
The evolution of the popular OnePlus 3. Faster, with more autonomy and also at a slightly higher price. OnePlus with its family of products it has definitely changed the way we perceive the market, although it is obviously a product for those who are not afraid to buy online.

Construction and Ergonomics

OnePlus 3T is identical to the previous smartphone: same size, same weight, same materials and the same design. For those not familiar is a product made entirely of dull metal, with a design not the most original, but definitely one of the most popular and among the most balanced. In his hand he holds well and the details are made with care, just as you would expect from a true top of the range. The keys can be reached well and have a good feedback to the pressure, as well as the physical switch on the top left to change sound mode. The only difference? The color: gray is now darker.

Hardware

The processor is the new Snapdragon 821 quad-core 2.35 GHz with Adreno GPU 530. The performance is slightly higher, but the truth is that without a benchmark is essentially impossible to notice. Remain unchanged even 6 (!) GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory technology UFS 2.0 (very fast) non-expandable. It was, however, introduced a new variant with 128 GB of internal memory. No changes other “details”. LTE connectivity up to 450 Mbps, Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC and a very precise and fast integrated fingerprint reader in the button touch home on the front (the sides two small LEDs indicate the other two touch keys).

Camera

The main camera 16 megapixels ƒ / 2.0 does not change, if not for a more resistant than glass protection lens protection. But there are some new software now also allows the use a new software stabilization in video, in symbiosis with the optics. Videos are always recorded in 4K but now enjoy this gear, although the results are not so appreciable. Always fast and accurate autofocus in photographs and on the whole very very good shots, thanks to HDR Auto (which perhaps could also be activated more often).
16 megapixels front incorporates a new algorithm to reduce the “square” of this type of shots (especially in low light). The results are consistently good: the presence of HDR in this mode would be the icing on the cake. It remains present the manual mode, shooting in RAW and camera activation by a double press of the power button.

Display

Even the display is unchanged. We always have a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) with Optic AMOLED technology. Excellent color, brightness, and automatic brightness, although with the exception of the lowest values is calibrated more “high” than its predecessor. Present at night mode, ambient display and color profiles. There remains the change to green tilting very smartphone, common to other smartphone with panels AMOLED.

Autonomy

And finally (almost) the battery: changes from 3000 to 3400 mAh, definitely not a bad jump. Samsung Galaxy S7 Review

Samsung Galaxy S7 Review
Despite Galaxy S8 is now on the market, Galaxy S7 is still a great choice thanks to its excellent camera, at his best display in its class, and excellent performance this year expandable memory and resistance to water and dust. Great if you can afford it.

Construction and Ergonomics

Samsung chose a rather conservative way from the point of view of design, also strengthened by the fact that the model last has certainly made inroads in the collective imagination. But what has changed? The company chose a metal of a slightly darker color and has also chosen to make the rear window rounded on the two long sides making slightly better grip. Overall smartphone industry remained a product extremely well designed, gaining something in thickness (for the larger battery), but with new interesting details. But the real news from the construction point of view is the fact that, without any “penalty”, the smartphone is now IP68 certified to dive up to half an hour on the water meter.

Hardware

The company has chosen to continue with their own processor. We speak of a Exynos 8890 octa-core up to 2.6 GHz with Mali T880 GPU MP12 delivers great performance, even for gaming. This is possible also thanks to the 4 GB of RAM and fast memory UFS 2.0 32 GB present in this smartphone (which, inter alia, despite being encrypted maintains its excellent performance practically unchanged). The biggest news in terms of hardware support, however, is actually a great return: microSD (and we can not but be happy).

Camera

The camera is totally different to Galaxy S6. It has a lower resolution ( 12 megapixels ), a new technology ( dual pixels ), new lenses and longer focal ratio ( f / 1.7 ). Always present the single LED flash and the optical image stabilizer. The big difference is found in night shots where he manages to do better than almost any other smartphone in circulation. The quality is still significant even in shots with good light where the pictures are rich in color and detail. Very good also the opening speed of the app (which also starts with a double the home button press), the incredible focus speed and contour pleasing the many functions available. Among these we mention the stabilized video (now at 60 fps in full HD), Hyperlapse or slowmotion up to 240 fps (in HD).

Display

The 5.1 inch screen remains substantially unchanged compared to the previous year (except perhaps for a slightly higher brightness of the automatic calibration). Resolution QHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) technology SuperAMOLED. We speak of a very high resolution display, with vivid colors but still faithful, optimum brightness and an optimal adaptation to the external light conditions. This year is probably the best display (not curved) used on a smartphone. This year has been activated then the display always on. Technically well done (clearly visible, but not invasive), with a low energy consumption, but not all notifications are shown.

Autonomy

The battery is now 3000 mAh (450 mAh are well more than last year) and autonomy has benefited, managing to position itself just above average and taking you with almost any type of use (not with a stress ) at the end of the day and thus solving the biggest problem of last year’s smartphone. There is rapid charge and also offers Wi-fast charging.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Review

Samsung Galaxy S8 review
The top of the range of 2017 to Samsung is definitely a product of excellence. It may not please everyone, but it is hard to remain indifferent to the beautiful infinity display. Confirmed the excellent camera and now we have a more streamlined software and at the same time more feature-rich.

Construction and Ergonomics

Samsung fully embraces the idea of the curved screen, going to accomplish with this technology also model “base” of the top of the S range for 2017. The screen then also has different proportions, making the highest smartphone and narrower than to the past. This allows him to have a bigger screen in the body of a smartphone just higher but mostly is easier to handle. This was possible thanks to having moved to the rear side of the camera, the fingerprint reader.
The smartphone is once again realized with a metallic profile and a glass back. It not too retains the prints and now the camera is almost flush with the phone, protected only by a very small step. In hand Galaxy S8 is used with simplicity and materials with which they are constructed are of great value. Great then the fact that water and dust resistance was maintained.

Hardware

Hardware further improved for this Galaxy S8. We have a new processor Exynos 8895 octa-core up to 2.3 GHz, made with a 10nm production process (such as Snapdragon 835) and Mali-G71 GPU. The RAM is 4 GB and the internal memory always starts from 64 GB (UFS 2.1) expandable with microSD. Excellent and is the first smartphone on the market with LTE connectivity support Gigabit (1024 Mbps), as well as to always have the Wi-Fi ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5.0 (which allows you to connect two Bluetooth devices simultaneously), GPS assisted by GLONASS and Galileo, and finally the NFC chip.
The fingerprint reader on the back can be reached by fairly easily, although it may take a little ‘habit and the speaker remained at the bottom: good quality and good volume. Always at the bottom then we finally find the Type-C port, finally adopted on the family Galaxy S.

Camera

Galaxy S8 is equipped with a camera 12 megapxiel ƒ / 1.7 with technology Dual Pixel, optical image stabilizer and LED flash. The photographic capabilities of this sensor (which should be the same as the Galaxy S7) is already amply confirmed and even with Galaxy S8 results are at the top. The pictures are rich in detail, with well-balanced color and the focus is precise and quick. Obviously the quality deteriorates in low light but still managed to better balance the colors even compared to how it was Galaxy S7. Lots of features available. We still have the ‘ Auto HDR, the Hypelapse, quick start (now with the power button) and the ability to position the shutter button wherever you want.

Display

The screen of this Galaxy S8 is a 5.8 inches with a resolution WQHD + (2960 x 1440 pixels) made with SuperAMOLED technology. The display is realized with the particular aspect ratio 18.5: 9. This elongated shape has no practical effect on the same screen, but results in better handling for your phone. The screen is curved sides and rounded corners. These are two precautions that have particular utility in practice, but which are extremely functional to the futuristic design of the device.
The screen is particularly charged in the colors making flashy, thanks to the high brightness. Anyone who wants can still make it more “natural” on the settings. Present then also the Always-On Display technology to allow you to get information on notifications even with the phone locked.

Software

Samsung substantially renews its Galaxy S8 software. It is Android 7.0, heavily customized with the Samsung interface. You can change themes, the grid size, activate the new drawer by swiping the home and also enable the new Bixby Home left the home. This new screen will display contextual content from supported apps taking them. Unfortunately there is still no trace of Bixby Voice, the new Samsung’s voice assistant. It already works well Bixby Vision that recognizes objects in your photos and offers to make quick purchases or give you information.
Among the novelties of this Galaxy S8 software we find a new mode that allows to cut a portion of an app to keep it fixed open at the top, and that adds to the already present multiwindow. Very beautiful new pop-up notifications which, however, the disadvantage of not being uw.

Autonomy

The battery remains to be 3000 mAh. The display resolution increases, and the new production technology at 10nm processor instead guarantees on paper more autonomy. Probably several factors offset each other and we have found a range identical (or nearly so) to Galaxy S7. With Stress Using manage to get through the day, perhaps a bit ‘precise. Fortunately there are still two great technologies: charging (really!) Quick and rapid wireless charging.

LG G6 Review

LG G6 Review
The top range of LG smartphones for 2017 was a surprise. It will not get an incredible hardware compared to the competition, but still at the top components. Very well the dual camera, one wide and able to take truly unique photos. Great then the new elongated screen: huge, but within a comfortable seat to hold in hand.

Construction and Ergonomics

LG G6 keeps some of the design choices of the past (such as the blocking of cameras) but in this G6 has virtually redesigned almost every stylistic choice, abandoning modular components, weird protuberances and curvatures of the body. We have a choice perhaps more conservative but at the same time aims to be firmer and more concrete. We have a body made of opaque metal and a rear glass in a slightly curved glass that includes inside the camera and the fingerprint reader which is also the ignition key.
If we add the fact that this year the smartphone is resistant to water and dust according to the standard IP68 we can consider G6 as a change of course but decided weighted.

Hardware

It comes with a hardware based on the best CPU of the last generation of smartphones: Snapdragon 821 quad-core 2.35 GHz. To be precise at this time the CPU is still the most powerful available for purposes of movement by Qualcomm, as Snapdragon 835 is not available (at the time of this writing) of any commercial device. We have a graphics processor Adreno 530, 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage expandable via a microSD.
Good Connectivity: LTE 600 Mbps, Wi-Fi ac dual-band and Bluetooth 4.2. Also present was the NFC and GPS and GLONASS. Finally, we close with the presence of FM radio and the fingerprint reader on the back. Pity about the lack of support for the new Bluetooth 5.0. The speaker is positioned on the bottom edge and has good volume and quality.

Camera

In full accordance with what has been done in this G6, even his photographic industry has been distorted while maintaining the paradigm of double camera. This duality allows the end user to choose between a main camera with optical image stabilizer and opening ƒ / 1.8 or a wide-angle “secondary” with opening ƒ / 2.4. This camera also surrender to the stabilization and autofocus, making it much less useful in low light, but allowing you to capture a field of view wide enough to make you forget these defects. And finally, from last year, both cameras shoot at 13 megapixels . Also disappears the color spectrum sensor and the autofocus laser. If good light with the focusing speed is also increased, instead you feel a bit ‘lack with little light where the focus is imperfect.
Also good video in 4K : here you can equally use the two cameras, with the same considerations above.

Display

The screen is 5.7 inches. It is an IPS display QHD + resolution (2880 x 1440 pixels) and in the format 18: 9. This results in a very wide screen, but that does not necessarily mean having also a huge and difficult to use smartphone. The screen is then bright, with a good automatic brightness and with neutral colors and well calibrated. The screen has then rounded corners, as well as having a charm, according to the words of LG, allow a screen to better withstand any smartphone falls.
The display supports Dolby Vision (ie HDR10) and provide the Always-On Display always visible notifications and time.

Autonomy

The LG G6 battery is a 3300 mAh non-removable. Unfortunately you lose the ability to change the battery, but gaining, as mentioned above, in various other fields, including the battery itself, now more body. The guaranteed autonomy is in line with our expectations (now knowing well what to offer in this regard the run-in Qualcomm Snapdragon 821). It manages to clear the end of the day arrive on a single charge smartphone if used intensively. Something more if you do a milder use of the device. Always supported the rapid charging Qualcomm.
