There’s a new phone with the best battery life. It’s the Moto G Power, which takes the crown from the very phone it replaces. Like last year’s Moto G7 Power, this new version of Motorola’s budget phone has a 5,000 mAh battery. And the Moto G Power makes the most of it, lasting over 16 hours in battery tests. That’s half an hour longer than the Moto G7 Power lasted.
Don’t expect fast charging from this phone. After 30 minutes of charging a dead battery, the Moto G Power’s battery gauge only showed a reading of 21%. On the other hand, 5,000 mAh is a very large power pack to fill. And it’s not that you’re going to need to charge this phone frequently.
The Moto G Power retains another attractive feature of the G7 Power: its price tag of $ 249. It’s a bargain when you get a phone that can last all day in return.
Moto G7 Power
After a year in first place as the phone with the best battery life, the Moto G7 Power slides into second place. Still, it’s a pretty lofty position, considering it’s one of three phones we’ve tested in the last two years with over 15 hours of battery life, and two of them are from Motorola.
The Moto G Power has new specs and multiple cameras. So, it’s hard to get that excited about last year’s Moto G7 Power. Unless you can find that old phone at a significant discount from its original price of $ 249.

Asus ZenFone 6
While the camera on last year’s Asus ZenFone 6 will turn heads as it rotates so that the same lenses do the same job as the front and rear cameras, for us this phone’s carrying capacity is the real star.
The ZenFone is on our list of phones with the best battery life. As it lasted more than 15 hours in battery tests, which is not a surprise given the robust 5,000 mAh battery of the ZenFone 6. It adds a fast charge and an efficient Snapdragon 855 processor. And you’ll have plenty of charge at your disposal on a phone that costs less than $ 500.
Samsung Galaxy A20
It may not have the appeal and features of Samsung’s more premium phones. But if you’re looking for a phone with the best battery life at a cheap price, the Galaxy A20 has it for you. The phone lasted more than 13.5 hours in battery tests, thanks to a huge 4,000 mAh battery.
Charging times are respectable too, as the A20 comes with a 15-watt charger. It can make the battery charge up to 30% after half an hour of charging. You’ll make some sacrifices for the price of the A20, which is $ 239. But you’ll get plenty of battery life in return.
LG V60 ThinQ 5G
The LG V60 ThinQ 5G is a solid and comprehensive alternative to Samsung’s Galaxy S20 Plus and S20 Ultra models, with better battery life.
LG went big with the battery, putting a 5,000 mAh battery inside the V60. That helped the phone last nearly 13 hours in testing, making it the longest-lasting flagship phone since last year’s Huawei P30 Pro.
Battery life is greatly reduced by keeping the V60’s second display accessory connected to the phone. Although that’s probably not something that many people are going to do. Even so, getting 7 hours and 34 minutes of battery life when powering a pair of 6.8-inch displays is quite an impressive feat. We just wish the LG V60 ThinQ 5G’s charging capacity was so impressive, as LG’s phone reaches a 51% charge after 30 minutes.
Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus
The 4,100 mAh battery in the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus has no problem keeping the 6.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED screen on throughout the day. We managed to get a little over 12.5 hours out of this phone, which is the best battery life we’ve seen from a Samsung flagship device, even though it’s starting to get dated.
But long battery life is only part of the S10 Plus’s power management. All S10 phones offer a Wireless PowerShare feature that allows you to wirelessly charge other devices, including mobile phones, by placing them on the back of the S10.
You can find newer Samsung phones, but the S10 Plus is still available. Even better, the arrival of the Galaxy S20 line has lowered the cost of the Galaxy S10 Plus to less than $ 900.
Moto G Fast
It may not be a Moto G Power, but the Moto G Fast achieves a result of 12 hours and 17 minutes with its 4,000 mAh battery in tests, almost four hours behind its brother Moto G, but still, it is among the 10 more durable devices than we’ve tested in the last 18 months. That’s great for a phone that’s available for under $ 200.
Don’t expect fast charging times from this budget phone. After 30 minutes, the stock charger that comes with the Moto G Fast only manages to charge the phone up to 26%, according to its battery indicator.
Smartphones with long battery life: Moto G Stylus
Speaking of the Moto G line, the Moto G Stylus will swap out the larger batteries in the Moto G Power and Moto G Fast for a more productive stylus, but that doesn’t mean it can’t last long on one charge. Packed with a 4,000 mAh battery, the Moto G Stylus lasted 12 hours and 13 minutes in testing, which is impressive, even though it is not the same endurance as the Moto G Power.
Although the G Stylus will last a long time between charges, don’t expect that 4,000 mAh battery to recharge quickly. After 15 minutes of charging a completely drained phone, the Moto G Stylus’s battery gauge will go back up to 15% and barely get close to 30% after half an hour. Still, it’s good to know that for $ 300, you can have a phone that will last you all day and that also comes with a nifty touch pen for taking notes.
Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra
As with many phones that have a fast refresh rate on their displays, two different test results were obtained when the Galaxy S20 Ultra and its 5,000 mAh battery were put to the test. When testing on Samsung’s flagship phone with the screen set to the default 60Hz refresh rate, the phone ran for 11 hours and 58 minutes, a better result than Apple’s iPhones.
But one of the features of the Galaxy S20 lineup is the display’s higher 120Hz refresh rate, which allows for smoother scrolling. When we activated that function and ran the test again, the S20 Ultra’s result dropped by 3 hours.
The Galaxy S20 Ultra charges quickly, thanks to the 25-watt charger that comes with the phone. After 30 minutes of charging, the battery is back to 63%.
iPhone 11 Pro Max
If you want the best battery life out of an iPhone, get the iPhone 11 Pro Max. It benefits from a larger battery than its predecessor, as well as the more efficient A13 Bionic processor.
