Electric Skate Board – Differences from the normal one?

The electric skateboard is a restyle of the classic skateboard, which by now had remained unchanged for decades.

The main difference is that you can wear it like a normal skate but control it from “Remote Control” and decide the speed you want to go.

Very convenient especially for getting around the city and, of course, if you get tired of wearing it like a classic skate you just turn on the engine and drive it.

But is it the same as a HoverBoard?

Absolutely not. It cannot be compared to a hoverboard, first of all, because in this case, it is much easier to maintain balance and the driving experience is completely different.

But the most important difference between an electric longboard or penny board and a hoverboard is that you can safely use the electric skateboard like a normal skateboard.

Another difference is that the hoverboard does not have a remote control to increase or decrease speed, but the skateboard has this option.

Is electric skateboard easy to drive?

Start by telling you that there are two electric skate models:

The choice between the two is personal, and if you want to know about the differences I will talk about it in-depth in this article.

But back to the main question: is it difficult to drive an electric skateboard?

It depends … if you have already worn a normal skate then you just have to get used to the model you purchased.

While if you’ve never worn a skateboard, I suggest you start using it with the engine off. In this way, it will be very easy to carry it and you will learn better to drive it.

When you feel ready to take it with the engine running, I suggest you lower the top speed (Not everyone has this works), so as to gradually increase.

Consider that the last time I brought a skateboard was 7/9 years ago but despite this, after 20 minutes, I felt comfortable already.

So to the question: is it easy to drive? Yes, but you have to get carried away, especially in the curves.

What is the maximum speed?

The maximum speed changes from model to model. There are models that reach the maximum speed of 10 km / h up to models that reach a speed of 36 km / h. (Oh yes, it’s a real vehicle)

When you exceed the maximum skate speed (eg on a descent) he will start playing to warn you. Of course, you can easily reduce the speed thanks to the electric skateboard remote control.

Is it good for home or city use?

At the base, there is always a skate so your use is absolutely external! It is not a product to use at home also because it cannot turn into tight corners compared to the Hoverboard. However, he manages to go smoothly on the asphalt and on slightly crumbling grounds.

Obviously, it will not be able to go to its maximum performance on bad roads and sometimes it will get stuck. But this is absolutely normal, and sincerely avoiding very uneven roads, you can safely walk around in peace.

How to start? Start with an electric or normal skate?

Personally, I would advise you to start with a skateboard longboard first and then move on to other models.

Why start with a longboard? Because the longboard being a very long skate, it will be easier to ride and you can start to understand how to maintain balance.

If you have NEVER tried a skateboard, then I strongly recommend that you buy a normal longboard skate first and then if you like it you can take the electric version.

This is just a piece of advice I want to give you, because then you may not like skateboarding so much and you will only have consumed money. I personally love it and also prefer it to the bicycle, especially for traveling around the city and in narrow areas!

If instead, you are sure to buy an electric skate directly then I suggest you take a look at the best electric longboards you can buy!

Then in the future, you can easily switch to a penny board and figure out which skate is right for you.

Obviously, you can also start with a penny, but you will have more difficulty at the beginning in maintaining the balance and trust me you will make some good falls on the ground.

But before choosing which model you want to start with, let’s see these two skateboards in detail and which one is right for you.

Which model to buy? LongBoard or Penny Board?

Differences between an electric longboard and a penny board

I begin by saying that the substantial difference between the two is the size.

The electric penny board is a really small skate, most models reach a maximum speed of 12km / h, but some even reach 18km / h.

Really very comfortable to carry around, and thanks to its small size and low weight you can easily carry it by hand or attach it to a bag. There are normal bags, with a penny board hook on the front.

A little more difficult to drive at the beginning but after a bit of practice, it is really snappy and performing.

While the electric longboard is quite the opposite it has excellent performance and there are models that even reach 36 Km / h.

However, obviously having dimensions far superior to the electric penny board, a longboard is more difficult to carry by hand.

Being longer it is much easier to drive especially in curves.

Which model to choose? Obviously, it depends a lot on the use you want to make of them.

If you need an electric skateboard to go to town and always take it with you even when you walk, then I recommend the penny board.

If, on the other hand, you want to get around the city but have parked the car a little away (so as not to get stuck in traffic) then I can recommend the Longboard, so that you can move around in peace and at a high speed and then rest it in the car and leave.

Both are excellent products, with excellent performance and quality. Obviously, it also depends on the brand you choose.
